Fitzgerald Marine Reserve

After checking the tides for a few weeks, low tide was favorably at noon for finally visiting the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve.  

Despite the deceiving photo above, this park was crawling with children. Do NOT come here on weekends or holidays if you want peace and quiet.  The tidepools do hold an astonishing variety of life worth ogling at. But you can get something as good in the tidepools at Salt Point without the hordes.

Bay Trail at Point Pinole

The red hues of the pickleweed on the Bay Trail at Point Pinole is breathtaking in the fall and is worth a visit.
